About the role
You turn system requirements into working electronics that behave as carefully in somebody's home as they do on a laboratory bench. Those are different environments in ways that surprise people: dust, pets, a power supply shared with a microwave, and nobody to reseat a connector. Schematics, instruments and honest measurement are how you get there, and the next revision is only as good as the evidence you gathered from the last one.
The work
Design or integrate boards, connectors, storage, power delivery and debug interfaces. Own signal and power integrity with specialist partners, inspect layouts and plan electrical validation. Work closely with firmware, thermal and manufacturing engineers.
What good looks like
In your first 90 days, complete a reference-board integration and validate power, interfaces and sustained operation under the agreed workload.
Evidence we look for
Bring practical electronics design and lab debugging experience. Show how you use schematics, instruments and measurements to isolate a failure and improve the next revision.
What we need to see
- Practical electronics design and real lab debugging experience
- You isolate a failure with instruments and measurements rather than by substitution
- You improve the next revision from evidence, and can show a case where you did
- You design for manufacture and for service, not only for function
Nice to have
- High-speed digital board design
- EMC and compliance testing
- You have taken a board from prototype to volume
The exercise
Diagnose intermittent storage errors during accelerator load and propose measurements before changing the design.
Where and how we work
In the office together five days a week, in any of these cities. Remote-friendly around your family, arranged one person at a time.
