About the role
If an important part of this mission is missing from our list, help us see it. This is a genuine route rather than a form for people who did not find a match: tell us what you would do and why it matters, and we will work out whether there is a role in it.
The work
Describe a user problem, the technical insight you bring and a bounded project that could establish whether the idea is useful. Relevant work may span mathematics, robotics, accessibility, materials, scientific computing or another discipline that changes the product.
What good looks like
The first milestone is a jointly scoped problem and a decision about a specific role or collaboration. Joining the talent community does not itself create an employment offer.
Evidence we look for
Bring evidence of depth and the ability to make your reasoning understandable. A paper, prototype, design, maintained system or carefully explained independent project can all be valuable.
What we need to see
- Evidence of depth in something relevant, in whatever form it exists
- You can make your reasoning understandable to someone outside your field
- A specific proposal rather than a general interest in working here
- Willingness to have the idea questioned
Nice to have
- A paper, prototype, design, or maintained system we can look at
- A carefully explained independent project
- A view on what we are getting wrong
The exercise
Tell us what you would build, what would count as success and what evidence could persuade you to stop.
Where and how we work
In the office together five days a week, in any of these cities. Remote-friendly around your family, arranged one person at a time.
